Inspired by life experiences and the mix of emotions and scenes that come with them,

my work captures an individual’s connection to nature and the journey of self-discovery.

about me

Hey, how’s it going?!

I’m Ella Eland, and among other things, I‘m a self-taught artist who dabbles in pencil, paint, and digital mediums.

Though I grew up in the snowy mountains of Breckenridge, CO, I’ve always had an obsession with the oceans and culture of Hawai’i. After spending 3 months traveling around the islands on a gap-year program after high school, it completely stole my heart.

I decided to move there alone at the age of 18 to pursue a simple life full of creativity and days spent in the sun, sea, and surf. There, the beauty of the environment and culture had me in a constant state of awe, inspiration, joy, and gratitude.

Although I recently moved back to the mainland to pursue travel and volunteer-work, Hawai’i is where I have grown the most as a person and will forever hold an extremely special place in my heart.

Nature is my ultimate source of refuge, tranquility, and gratitude. Though I’ve struggled with depression and anxiety, I have found constant peace and happiness through being in nature (particularly the ocean) and exercise (surfing, hiking, skateboarding etc).

Creating art is a way for me to forever capture the feelings of peace, joy, and self-love I find when I’m in nature.
